Highly recommend. Our appointment time was 8:00am Monday morning and Bruce showed up at 7:59. Awesome. And this was the morning after a snowstorm. He was polite, quick and professional. We had two clogged drains which he had cleaned out and left our house before 8:45. I would definitely use them again and suggest them to anyone who needs it.

Friendly, professional, and prompt. Adam fixed the backup and took the extra time to scope out the main flush with the camera to give us peace of mind that the pipes were in good shape.

we have been having issues with water and stuff backing up into our laundry room in the basement. Our company who maintains our septic (ASI) came out and told me to cancel the pumping company that I had coming later that morning. Ken (the ASI man) called Clear Drain for me and set up an appointment for us for 2 hours after he left. Ken told me how amazing this company is and how they will do such a thorough job and that they are priced very well for all that they do. Ken saved me a lot of money and heartache by sending this company out to my house. The gentleman who showed up was so kind, had a great sense of humor (even if he was faking it, I am sure he has heard all of the poop jokes there are to hear), he showed me exactly what needed to be fixed, told me what we can do to keep things moving until we can dig up the spot to our first septic tank, he discovered that we apparently have 2 septic tanks (that was a good laugh), marked in the yard where we needed to dig to have things fixed, told me what the company could do for us but never once pushed anything on me (which makes me want to call them again if we ever have issues). The kind man knew the exact type of tree that I had near the house, was able to tell me about the roots, how often we may or may not to have the pipes cleared, what to ask for in the future so we would know how often to have them cleared. I can't say enough good about these guys, although the issue sucks in the long run, he made me feel not so stressed about it, had me take a picture of the issue so I could show my husband so he would be able to see what is going on. (now I am rambling). I highly recommend this company. They seem to have amazing manners and an even better work ethic.

Expert Tree Root Extraction and Sewer Line Maintenance

We specialize in removing invasive tree roots from sewer lines throughout Holmes County and nearby areas, using advanced techniques and professional equipment to restore proper flow and prevent future damage.

Comprehensive Root Intrusion Assessment

We begin each service with a thorough video inspection of your sewer line to identify the exact location and severity of root intrusions. Our high-definition cameras provide clear imagery of the pipe’s interior condition.

This detailed assessment helps us map out problem areas and determine the most effective removal strategy. The inspection reveals the extent of root penetration and any resulting pipe damage.

We provide clients with a complete report of our findings, including video documentation and recommended solutions for their specific situation.

Professional Sewer Line Root Removal Techniques

Our team employs several proven methods to eliminate root intrusions:

  • High-pressure water jetting to blast away root masses
  • Mechanical cutting tools for thick root removal
  • Chemical treatments to prevent regrowth
  • Advanced clearing equipment specifically designed for residential sewer lines

We carefully select the most appropriate technique based on your pipe’s material, age, and condition. Each method is performed with precision to avoid damaging the existing infrastructure.

Importance of Prompt Root Removal

Root intrusions can cause significant sewer line damage when left untreated. Early signs of root problems include:

  • Slow draining fixtures
  • Gurgling sounds in pipes
  • Frequent backups or clogs
  • Sewage odors in yard

Professional root removal prevents costly pipe replacements and property damage. Quick action helps maintain your system’s integrity and extends its lifespan.

Regular maintenance keeps root problems from becoming emergencies. We recommend annual inspections for properties with mature trees near sewer lines.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is root removal in plumbing?

Root removal is the process of clearing tree roots that have invaded your sewer or drain lines. Roots seek out moisture and can enter small cracks or joints in pipes, causing clogs, slow drains, or even pipe damage.

Roots enter through tiny cracks, loose joints, or holes in underground pipes. Once inside, they thrive in the moist environment and can quickly grow into a dense web that blocks water flow.

Common signs include:

  • Frequent drain backups or slow drains

  • Gurgling sounds from toilets or drains

  • Unpleasant odors from plumbing

  • Sudden lush patches of grass above sewer lines

  • Overflowing cleanout or backups in multiple drains

We typically use one or more of the following methods:

  • Root cutting with a mechanical auger (drain snake with a cutting head)

  • Hydro jetting to blast away root debris

  • Chemical root treatments to kill roots and prevent regrowth

  • Camera inspections to locate the problem and confirm it’s resolved

Yes, hydro jetting is highly effective for clearing out soft root masses and flushing out debris. For thick or woody roots, mechanical cutting may be used first, followed by hydro jetting.

Yes, if not treated properly. That’s why we often recommend a root-killing chemical treatment after physical removal to discourage regrowth. Long-term solutions may include pipe repair or replacement.

When performed by professionals, root removal is safe. We always inspect your pipes beforehand to assess their condition and choose the safest and most effective method.

Preventive steps include:

  • Regular sewer line inspections

  • Annual root maintenance treatments

  • Replacing old clay or concrete pipes with modern PVC

  • Avoiding planting trees or shrubs near sewer lines

If you’ve had root issues before, annual inspections and treatments are recommended. For homes with older sewer lines near large trees, ongoing maintenance is key to avoiding emergencies.

Yes, we provide fast-response emergency services to clear root blockages and restore your plumbing system when you’re dealing with a sudden backup or overflow.
